CAE

Klippan uses CAE simulations early on in the development process, to predict the behaviour of a system. Designs faults can eliminated early on, and an optimised design can be found efficiently. Strength and crash analyses are done early in the development process, to ensure that the system complies with all customer requirements.

We use LS-DYNA as a CAE tool. This is a general purpose, transient, dynamic, finite element program capable of simulating complex real world problems. Examples of applications where LS-DYNA gives excellent results are:

• Large and small structural deformations
• Contact
• Failure or fracture of the structure
• Low-cycle fatigue
• Impact

It is also excellent for carrying out standard linear static stress analyses and modal analyses.
